Parchment/paper texturiser; Decor > Parchment texture

A revised version of my first script I wrote in 2009 during a boring weekend, this script takes an image as input, duplicates and flattens it, and then applies several plugin and script-fu effects on a dozen different layers to create a paper or parchment-like effect on the cheap, with the final output an image with layers and some layer masks. An optimal input image is a 1000x1000 square image (maybe I'll update the script to fix that "square" part; the problem is a round blend, but it's not that hard to fix after-wards), but it scales more or less.

Render texture

This script automates creating simple textures, using solid noise/emboss. Easily create paper-like textures or more coarse gravel-like ones.

The texture appears on it's own layer. You can adjust opacity, layer mode, and various other settings beforehand, and you can also see a preview of how it will look.

The plugin is coded for 2.6. I haven't tried it on 2.7.
Comments & feedback are welcome.

When you download the script, rename it so that you change the extension from ".py.txt" to ".py", otherwise it will not work.

Version 1.3:

Paper Saver

The script can be used for creating a papersaver when doing scrapbooking. Where many small images of different sizes are to be printed.

This script lets the user pick a number of images. Then tries to packs the images on as few pages as possible, respecting their print size.

The algorithm used is not optimal, but does a fairly good job.

Burnt Paper

This plugin creates a burnt-paper effect. It uses your selection as the original outline of the paper. It then creates an old looking piece of paper that is burnt around the edges and overlays the current layer atop this paper.

Here is an example of its output:

That image was created from a text layer and a selection that was larger than the text area:
