Exact Aligner

This script brings 2 pictures to an exact overlap.
The pictures must be in 2 different layers of the same image.
Get the layer 2 with 50% transparency. This makes both pictures visible in one projection.
You have to tell the script, which 2 points have to overlap. Therefore you stroke a path with a path tool in the image including 4 points. Point 1 will be aligned with point 3 and point 2 will be aligned with point 4.
The points build one path. So you can just click the 4 points consecutively.

Measure Active Path

Returns the length of the active path in pixels via gimp_message. A message will appear in the status bar, unless the Error Console is opne - in that case the message will be directed to the Console.

Filters->Measure->Active Path

Tested with 2.6.6 on Ubuntu 8.10 and Win XP.

Split path into strokes

This script takes a vector object (path) and split's it into it's different strokes - each stroke as a new path.

Useful in cases that an action is needed to be done only on one stroke of a path.

Currently this script is updated for GIMP 2.4 or higher.

SVG Export

Extends the functionality of /Export Path by allowing for the specification of attribute values (fill,stroke,etc) by encoding these into the path name. Export path values as SVG file. Script assumes that the path name is an encoding of SVG attributes.

These are encoded using:

_[2 letter code][value]_ where 2 letter code is one of:

fc => fill color (SVG attribute: fill)
fo => fill opacity (SVG attribute: fill-opacity)
nm => name of the path (SVG attribute: id)
sc => stroke color (SVG attribute: stroke)
sj => stroke line join (SVG attribute: stroke-linejoin)
sl => stroke line cap (SVG attribute: stroke-linecap)
so => stroke opacity (SVG attribute: stroke-opacity)
sw => stroke width (SVG attribute: stroke-width)
tp => type of shape can be: circle,rect,polyline,polygon

The value can not contain an underscore and exact values for attributes can be obtained from the SVG Specifications: http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG

For example:

_fcwhite_scblack_tppolyline_slbutt_sjmiter_nmexample_

would decode to:

<polyline points="..." fill="white" stroke="black" stroke-linejoin="miter" stroke-linecap="butt" id="example"/>

Loading the resultant SVG file is only possible if you have SVG support compiled in, but you can export SVG using this script.

Shape Paths

This is a collection of Script-Fus that create Paths in the form of geometric shapes. Squares, rectangles, rounded rectangles, circles, ellipses, ovals, polygons, stars, flowers, gears, triangle waves, square waves, and sine waves are currently supported.

Version 0.91 is updated for GIMP 2.4.x! It now supports automatic stroking and filling!

How to install:

Right-click on the link below that says "shape-path-0.91.scm". A pop-up menu should appear. Click "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." or whatever the equivalent option in your browser is.
Save the file "shape-path-0.91.scm" in your scripts folder. If you're not sure where your scripts folder is, you can check by opening GIMP and going to <Toolbox>/File/Preferences -> Folders -> Scripts. If more than one folder is shown, then any one of them will work.
Once you have saved the file in your scripts folder, if you are already running GIMP, either click <Toolbox>/Xtns/Script-Fu/Refresh Scripts, or just close and reopen GIMP.
If you have done this correctly, the scripts will appear in the menu under <Image>/Script-Fu/Shape Paths. If this menu is not there, try clicking <Toolbox>/Xtns/Script-Fu/Refresh Scripts. If it's still not there, make sure the file is in your scripts folder and that the filename ends with ".scm", not ".txt" or ".scm.txt" or something.
