Where are the information

Hi,
where is the information about things happens to the old accounts and the old files.
And why aren't the registered users informed by mail?

cu, Frank

Old registry files

there is a way to browse the old files ?
Many script and plugin , still working with gimp 2.4 are no more present

Blank pages

Is anyone else getting tired of seeing people posting all these blank, empty pages on here? Perhaps the site should be tweaked so it won't let you post a plugin/script without either a description or at least one attachment. Or is there some purpose to these blank pages that I'm not seeing?

HELP

I FINALLY downloaded the GIMP.
Now, how can I make a picture transparent?

I use www.runehq.com, and they need the pictures transparent.
Runehq is the helpsite for www.runescape.com.

Help quick!

recaptcha fixed

Hi,

after the old domain name was switched over, the recaptcha key stopped working and new users could not register anymore. Recaptcha.net requires that one specifies all domains that a key is going to be used from, probably to prevent abuse. I have now added registry.gimp.org and my testing indicates it works fine again, so you should be able to create new accounts again!

Many thanks to the people who reported this in a very helpful manner (with screenshots, even!).

cheers, Ingo

upload scripts

i'm happy to see that the Gimp Plugin registry is resurrected , with new look and better search

But i have a question about uploading script/plugin

Since most are GPL licenced why allow only their author to upload them ?
Of course their name and contact adress should be published but what if someone provide good script but has no time or interest to register , fill the form and upload?

Will seems a better idea if others may submit scripts or plugins they found useful, if licensed under GPL, and if the webside or a contact adress of the developer is included in the proposal

Removing Clutter...

At the moment, I'm not completely happy with the layout of stuff on the page, it is too cluttered IMHO. Therefore, I have changed a few things and am, as always, open for suggestions for more improvements!

The changes so far are

  • some menu items at the top
  • one less menu on the left
  • no more gimp news -- they don't change that often and I reckon people visit gimp.org anyway
  • Navigation menu is only displayed when logged in
