AnimStack is a collection of tools to simplify creating animations in GIMP. It makes heavy use of Layer Groups, introduced in GIMP 2.8.

A simple example of a problem this script might solve: you have an animation, but you want to put some text on top of it. Normally you would have to add text to every frame manually, but with AnimStack this task is completely automated. AnimStack is perfect for post-processing your GIF animations and adding various simple effects to them.

script-fu-copy-rotate

Define the center of rotation, angle and count it will then copy and rotate based on the original distance from center. I have included images to show usage. This was based in part on Radial Copy by pkotronis but as i couldn't figure out how to use his i made a simpler one

edit: I added a layer resize to fix errors and a new script that does the same thing but creates a new layer for each rotation.

Fibonacci spiral

Converts a square or rectangular image into a Fibonacci spiral by making smaller copies of the image, rotating them, and arranging them into a spiral tiling. If the initial image is square, then the tiling has no overlap; for a rectangular image, the user can specify a blending mode for how the overlap is treated.

USAGE NOTES:

Rotate (and resize) Brush

Updated for version 2.6. Resizing brushes is pretty much obsolete, but rotating, mirroring and inverting brushes is still useful.

Deskew

Deskew, also called auto straighten, is the automatic rotation of an image such that the text is vertically aligned. This is great for cleaning up scanned documents.

Rotating Brush Assistant

This script help to set up a rotating (animated) brush. Starting with one (or more) brush images, it will create rotated copies of that image in a way to allow saving the file as a gih.

Just start with an image oriented in the "drawing upwards" direction:

and run the script. With the defaults it will create a new image having all the rotated copies:
