GIMP Plugin Registry

I just downloaded Gimp and I cannot see where or how to import a picture to work on. Can any one help with basics?

Where is the CROP tool on Gimp????
Have deleted 2.4.7 and tried to download the 2.6 on the ftp link on my leopard Mac won't Work( times out)
is there a good free basic tutorial for new gimp users???

Ok i found out i have Gimp 2.4.6 so.... that do I need to download to get the animation package... I am not the best with computer so I need to know precisely what files to download and what not. Please ^__^

I've never added anything to the original gimp, but now as I am wanting to create more animations I stumbled on a tutorial about this thing called GAP. I did a search that led me to deviant art, but I'm sure that I did something drastically wrong because I ended up with a ton of error messages. Could someone directed me to where to download a current Version of gap and dumb down how to install it to Gimp. I would truly appreciate it. Thanks.

When I try to open a .pnm file (created by my own scanner using XSANE), I get the following error:-
PNM Image Message, invalid X resolution
GIMP Message, Opening 'home/XXXX/documents/for XXXXX.pnm' failed, PNM Image Plug-in could not open image.
NO doubt I'm doing something wrong, but just WHAT please!

Using Ubuntu Hardy on i386 PC 2.25GB RAM 80GB HDD

I downloaded the plugg in off the site. I went to run the resynth.exe file and I get the error this application has failed to start because libgimp-2.0-0.dell was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I downloaded the libgimp-2.0-0.dll on my desk top but what folder do I need to put it in now for the resynth.exe files recognize its there?

I tried just putting the Resynth.exe file in the plug in folder and I tried putting the scripts in the scripts folder but I didn't see Gimp picking them up.

Can anyone tell me how they installed this pluggin??? Thanks

I am on windows, and need to read exif info on my pictures. There are i think some freebees about on download.com to do this , but i see there is a linux option for gimp.

...and talk of a windows one....

But I cannot find it. Can anyone help?
