Hi All,
I'm new to gimp and am fumbling my way through. The
first thing I did when I got stuck is clicked the help pull down menu, then help,
and I got this message "The GIMP help browser plug-in appears to be missing from your installation. You may instead use the web browser for reading the help pages."
So I went to the plugins and can't find it. Then I searched for help plugin. The results
were quite comical. I recommend it for a giggle. read more »

Managing tool boxes in Gimp
This explains in simple language how to manage the tool boxes in Gimp. (Mostly as asides, it also critiques the user interface, to help you understand.)
First, terminology. Gimp calls them "Dockable Dialogs". Here I call them tool boxes. (programmers distinguish tool boxes, where you choose a tool then hit something with it, from list boxes, where you choose something, for example a layer, and pull down a menu for it, or just choose something to activate or select it. read more »

Hi,
I'm new here, so let me apologise up front for posting what might turn out to be a question with an obvious answer, or a question to the wrong forum.
I'm a Windows Photoshop user who wants to switch to Gimp. I have Gimp 2.6.7 installed on Windows XP. I've read a lot about PSPI to allow Gimp to use Photoshop plugins, but I can't find PSPI.
Does PSPI exist, or is there some other method of using Windows Photoshop plugins on Gimp for Winsows?
Thanks!
I just started trying out gimp 2.2 and I would like to know if it is possible to safe a rendering filter? When I safe my picture it automatically dissapears and I love the effect (especially the 'contrast' filter) so much that I would like to print it, but now I can't do that. I hope you have a good solution for me :)

Hi all,
I'm a relatively new user of GIMP, having successfully installed and used on my iMac at home. I have also attempted to instal GIMP onto my ASUS laptop which has Vista Ultimate as its OS.
After installing onto the laptop (and using what I think was the Vista download GIMP 2.2.17) I can't get tools to work.
Other functions such as motion blur appear to work.
Thanks
Craig
