This script inverse the visibility of the active layer. It is very useful because you can give it a short cut and use the mouse only on your image!

Script-fu Yin-Yang

This script create a yin-yang figure inside an image. In the package there are : script-fu-yin-yang.scm and all-visible-or-all-invisible.scm (because the first script depends of the second script).

Guillotine into Layers

Short description:,
The Guillotine-into-Layers plug-in is a variation on the Guillotine plug-in by Adam D. Moss. It is intended to address a shortcoming of the original: Too many windows opened! There is, however, a trade-off.

Advantages:
The Guillotine-into-Layers plug-in slices the original image along guides just as does the standard Guillotine plug-in; however, instead of spawning many new images - which clutter the desktop and bog down the processor, this plug-in makes only one new image with multiple layers - one layer for each rectangular region. The user can then selectively copy a single layer from this new image, and paste it as a new image, giving the user greater control. Furthermore, the new image is named with the *.xcf file suffix. That way, if the user needs to stop processing the layers of the new image before s/he is done, then s/he can simply save the new image in the GIMP's native format - which preserves multiple layers.

The trade-off:
When the original Guillotine plug-in slices an image, each new image has the same number of layers as the original, each copied from the same rectangular region. On the other hand, the Guillotine-into-Layers plug-in performs a copy-visible-layers action over each region to produce a new layer for the resulting image - implicitly merging the original layers.

Update 2009-11-8:
The second package - v.0.1.1 - contains an executable compiled for Windows platform and French translations - both from samj. See:
fourier (new)

A simple plug-in to do fourier transform on you image. The major advantage of this plugin is to be able to work with the transformed image inside GIMP. You can so draw or apply filters in fourier space, and get the modified image with an inverse FFT.

Palette Generator

New version:1_3
Add to palette black, gray and white by default.

New version:1_2
Save palette bug fixed.

Version:1_1
Adjust light of scheme work fine (I hope!)

It generates palette by following the harmonic schemes of color: monochromatic, complementary, triadic, tetrad and analogous.
Options:
- you can choose between the digital wheel (RGB) and the real wheel (RYB);
- you can choose whether to use the color "web safe" or not;
- you can see in real time in a preview page the combination of colors;
- you can save a Gimp or Inkscape palette.
Required python libraries: :
- GrapeFruit-0.1a3
INSTALLATION: copy file gimp_palette_generator.py to the standard place for plugins (folder "plug-ins").

See: http://krypt77.altervista.org/index_gimp.htm

Radial Copy (True Polar Array)

Note: I accidentally posted this as a plug-in first. I've now correctly posted it as a script.

This script allows the user to select an item in the image and to create a true polar array of the selected object (think kaleidoscope as opposed to Ferris wheel seats). It is useful for creating objects that possess radial symmetry.

The user can control:
-center point of rotation
-distance from the center point to the objects in the array
-starting angle for the rotation
-angle between each copied object
-number of objects in the final array.

Some experimentation may be required to get the result you want, as I made the script rather flexible.

Select the exact outline of what you are using to create the array. Using a standard rectangular selection box will potentially crop pieces of the array as it rotates.

I've attached a sample image and an image of the values that I used to achieve the effect.

Heal selection (fix to: Smart remove selection)

A fix to the Filter>Enhance>Smart remove selection... script.

Release notes:

Fixed a bug where strange texture (e.g. sky from the top of the image) instead of surrounding texture was synthesized onto the selection, as reported at this website for the resynthesizer plug-in.

Changed the menu item to "Filter>Enhance>Heal selection..." from "Smart remove selection..." (New menu item name is shorter and more descriptive. It doesn't use the Heal tool, but the effect is nearly the same. Note the filename is the same, only the menu item name is changed, and it still requires the resynthesizer plug-in.)

Changed the pop-up help text.

Installation:

Copy file smart-remove.scm to the standard place for scripts. See Preferences>Folders>Scripts for the pathnames. In my case, using Linux Ubuntu, I removed the current version at /usr/share/gimp/2.0/scripts/smart-remove.scm and installed the new version at ~/.gimp-2.6/scripts/smart-remove.scm. (It seems strange that Gimp will not use a script from your home folder if there is also one of the same name in the standard installation folder, but it will for a plugin?)

60's Text Effect Script (Rev. 2.2)

This script will create psychedelic 1960's text. I created this script from my tutorial of the same name. I didn't merge the layers in the script, as I did in the tutorial, because you can change the blend modes of the different layers for different appearance.

Rev. 2.0 - added compatability for Gimp 2.4.x

Rev. 2.1 and 2.2 - Added gradient controls.
