This script rename a certain number of layers from the active drawable.
It can be found in the layers dialog menu.
The renaming way is from the bottom to the top of the layers stack.
The options are :
-> Renamable layers visibility
-> Name(s) multiplicator : how many time the base names are repeted
-> Prefix : this is put before each base name(s)
-> Names separator
-> Base name(s) :
- one base name : write the name without separator characters
- more than one base name : write a string of this type : "name1/name2/.../name n" read more »
This script is used to create a stamp style border around a picture.
I've just updated the script to have it working with Gimp version 2.4+
This is a modified version of the script at http://registry.gimp.org/node/22018 which allows you to run it from the command line, automatically merging the layers and saving to the same filename. I also created a simple batch wrapper around this, based on the code at http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Basic_Batch/ and sliced and diced it appropriately.

The Stit-ch-art is a script-fu extension for the GIMP. Stit-ch-art creates a cross-stitching chart based on a given image. It applies the modified Madeira palette with 256 colors on the copy of the image, and then scans it pixel by pixel for color codes while generating black and white chart ready for printing (includes color legend from Madeira).
The attached zip-file contains the script stitchart.scm, readme.txt, and 2 palettes: madeira.gpl and madeira256.gpl.
