Adaptive layer background

This script creates a background for the given layer, containg some kind of color gradient, but adaptive to the layer’s contents.

Path Blend

A script that will blend a gradient between two paths, so long as each path has the same number of segments.

It registers under Filters->Render->Path Blend.

You have to select two paths (they must be different and have the same number of segments) and one gradient. The order of the paths corresponds to the direction of the gradient (From the first path To the second path.

Export gradient from svg file to ggr

This simple program pulls definitions gradients created in a file. Svg Inkscape and converts them into files gimp gradients GGR. You can just drag the icon svg file an application, which will export the gradients to the files in the program folder, or run the application by clicking on it twice, and acting in accordance with the instructions.

Random gradient generator

Simple console program made by me to automatic generate random gradient in ggr format. Someday I wonted to do this tutorial here: http://www.eyesontutorials.com/articles/5276/1/Photorealistic-Vinyl-Desi... and I could not do it because GIMP does not have a generator of random gradients. Because I know how to programing I decided to write a console program that generates a random gradient for me.

Interpolation Plugin

This is an interpolation plug-in for the GIMP. It works by doing plane/curve fitting and calculating weighted averages. It takes samples from a grid of pixels from 'known' image areas, trying to fit a plane or a curve to each, and then uses those samples to estimate the 'unknown' image areas.

Upper-left: original image, upper-right: result after interpolation,
lower left: selection (a.k.a. output mask), lower right: input mask

Smart Gradient

This is a simple gradient plugin for GIMP, written in python. It applies a linear gradient to a rectangular selection, in one of four directions, using the colours of the pixels at the starting edge, and fading to the background colour, over the width, or height of the selection. To try this out, all you need to do is download the script, and store it in the gimp plugins folder, in your home directory. Remember to set the executable flag on the file. An example of use may be found on my site : www.andyshelley.co.uk/gimpgradient/index.php

Make gradient from panoramics photographs

With this script is easy to create gradients that they simulate a sunset or a natural landscape. You take a photo panoramic, it selects a thin vertical strip and it rotates it in counter-clockwise direction. You read the maximum width of the image and insert it (width / 2) like number of segments in the dialog box of the plugin.

Examples of images created with the plugin

Sample Gradient from Image

This script compliments my "Sample Gradient Along a Path" script and was originally developed to generate the gradients bundled here.  This script simply scales the image to be 1 px high and samples across it, so it only works correctly with horizontal gratent images.

You can however create some interesting gradients with other images.  For example, an image that is 1/2 black and 1/2 white diagonally will creat a gratent that blends linearly from black to white!

Four-corner gradient

Version 2.4

This Script-Fu creates a completely new image having an RGB and/or HSV gradient in two directions - both horizontally and vertically - based on the colors you specify for the four corners. The layer name includes the parameters to support reproducibility.

Superceded as of 4/26/09 by 2-Dimensional Gradient.

60's Text Effect Script (Rev. 2.2)

This script will create psychedelic 1960's text. I created this script from my tutorial of the same name. I didn't merge the layers in the script, as I did in the tutorial, because you can change the blend modes of the different layers for different appearance.

Rev. 2.0 - added compatability for Gimp 2.4.x

Rev. 2.1 and 2.2 - Added gradient controls.
