Script-Fu

The original scripting extension.

Diffraction

Creates a diffraction pattern using a circular gradient and the foreground and background colours.

Rainbow Plasma

Creates an image of rainbow coloured circles to give a plasma-like pattern. Also comes with an animation script that animates the pattern. Frames are saved as layers. Choose min and max speed and circles are randomly increases/decreased in radius according to the set speeds.
TODO - Save frames as XCF files compatible with GAP.

Lightning

This is a script that is based on the lightning tutorial (http://gug.sunsite.dk/tutorials/tomcat9/). It was tested on GIMP 2.4 (so, using the new scheme engine).
It comes with two versions; one that creates an image of lightning and another that creates an animation (using layers as frames) of lightning with parameters to modify the turbulence so the lightning bolt appears to dissipate over time.

GIMP Labels

GIMP Labels has a (fairly small) list of common label templates (from Avery and others) to help in using GIMP to print address labels, business cards, CD labels etc.

labels.scm gives you:

Xtns/Misc/Labels/Rect label...
Create a new image with the right aspect ratio for one label.

Filters/Combine/Make label page...
Once one label is created, duplicate it as many times as desired to make a full sheet (only US-letter currently supported) of labels.

Xtns/Misc/Labels/CD label...
Create a new image sized for a full or mini CD label.

Filters/Render/CD mask...

Pandora

Pandora simplifies the process of stitching together a sequence of panorama images.

Load all the panorama pieces (in order) as layers inside an image (suggestion: make a new image then "Open as Layers" and select all the files). Then run Filters->Combine->Make Panorama.

You still have to do the detailed matching by hand, but Pandora calculates the needed image size, moves all the layers to approximately the right position and creates appropriate layer masks for fading each image into the next.

Line Border - panorama

Generate a border for a panorama image.

It is installed under Filters/Decor/Borders.

Changelog:
08.10.2008 - v1.2

  • CHANGE: Fixed to work with gimp 2.6

Line Border

A script to create a border around an image. Border can contains additional lines (inner and outer). Size of lines and distance to image/border can be set independently. The bottom border can be extended and can contains text. There is no auto extension according to text size. The text is always in the middle of the bottom border.

(based on Eg-Border.scm script)

NOTE: I've created a new version in python and this version have much more functionality and uses own dialog, so it fits to screen ;-) Check it at: http://registry.gimp.org/node/24784.

Shadows and Highlights

This plugin does a pretty good job of eliminating shadows and highlights in photographs. It gives you two layers that basically act like adjustment layers, and changing the opacity will alter the effect.

Digital Infrared

Simulate a B&W infrared image

Upper layer: Darker Image ((under)exposed for highlights)
Middle layer: Correctly exposed Image
Lower layer: Lighter Image ((over)exposed for shadows)
