Reduces high ISO banding, blue haze and somewhat chroma noise. Intended for images produced by Olympus gear on higher ISO settings, could be useful on images from other companies. It's fast, but alters colors, lightning of the scene in a dodge-burn fashion. New version adds Gaussian blur on Y, Cr & Cb channels, which can be used separately.

The G'MIC plug-in for GIMP proposes a set of various filters to apply on your images, including artistic effects, image denoising and enhancement algorithms, 3D renderers, etc.. It is a quite large plug-in, integrating a lot of different effects.
This plug-in is able to :
GREYCstoration was a noise reduction plug-in for GIMP, based on the technique of anisotropic diffusion partial differential equations.
GREYCstoration has been discontinued, and is now replaced by the G'MIC project, which contains all the former GREYCstoration features, but also much much much more !
Implements an ISO noise reduction as described in the tutorial below, also this script uses different methods (masking the edges and then blurring the individual color channels or the luminance channel only)

PS - Using a plugin like Wavelet denoise from http://registry.gimp.org/node/4235/ or greycstoration from http://www.greyc.ensicaen.fr/~dtschump/greycstoration/ might actually give you better results and more options for fine tuning.
