Shape It - Win32 binary

A Windows binary of this plugin by Claes G Lindblad (, ported to 2.x by Victor Ramirez. Almost a "lost and found" plugin?
It bends a text or an image according to a shape.
Create the map on a new layer. Should be black and white for best results. Add an alpha channel to both layers.

i am mirroring both source code and binaries to avoid it can get lost and i repost here also in the hope that may found more users and a maintainer (as i said still works very well ,from gimp 2.0 till 2.7 a maintainer may help for the future )

repeated rotation

This script generates rotated copies of the current layer.
It can be used to draw star-like images (see jpg below)
Save the script in your scripts folder, you will find it under Layer -> Transform -> repeat rotation.

L-system & turtle graphic

These scripts are mainly aimed at generating L-system fractals using turtle graphics. As an added bonus, shapes (not fractals) and turtle trails too.
L-system (or shapes, or turtle trails) can be drawn using different tools, including path, and centered/scaled to image/layer/mask.

Save both scripts in your scripts folder, you will find it under Filters -> Render -> Turtle graphics.

Silicosaur PhotoFX

Silicosaur PhotoFX is a collection of script-fu macros for GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) to easily simulate development methods and film types used by photographers of pre-digital age.

By using Silicosaur PhotoFX you can simulate Portra, Provia, an Velvia film characteristics and Cross Processing (aka. X-PRO) effects.

For some reason the freetype plugin, quite useful to edit text and fonts, was removed from gimp-2.4 , and many miss it Work well with Gimp-2.4 (at least on Windows OS)
