if the problem is related to open pdf with gimp then same solution then for xp should work should be no strictly the need to change environments variables

copy (copy do NOT means move) the ghostview exe in your gimp bin folder should fix

BUT..There was a similar question in this forum there i added more details that now i can not remember

(as example i can't remember now if if also ghostview is required but there are the details
......better you try "Ghostscript" in forum search)
