Creating a Circular Text Path

I'm trying to make text go around an image using a path, but not having much luck. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I found how to do it...actually there's a script fu (at least in gimp 2.4) called Text circle in the logo scripts...
But still, I'd like to know how I could do it manually, as it could be useful for other use...

I would also like to know this..it is probably that I am over looking something I have gimp vers.2.4.1 installed on windows if that helps.

I would like to learn how to make it along any path not necessarily circular.

I found this website by a google search for the same thing.

ninja edit: I upgraded to the latest vers.2.4.4 and I Got the text to rap but I can not edit the text??

Would this be it?


If it is just:
1. make a circular selection
2. select - to path (very bottom)
3. type your text then while its selected press text along path (in tool options)
4. go to the paths dialog and right click the selection that appears to be words in a circle and select path to selection

Hi,

What you said works great. But now I'd like to do something a little bit different, ie I'd like that the text on the half bottom part not to be upside down and right to left.

So basically I add first half of my text on the half top part (that works), but then I justs can't draw the half bottom part right...

Any idea on how to do it?

I figured that part

I figured that part yesterday...every since I got the new version the 2.4.4 I get this message and it shuts down....OK
for example I am writing some text and when I close the text editor it freezes then closes.

C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\2577_appcompat.txt

THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS THAT IT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE ERROR REPORT SENT TO MICROSOFT OR WHERE EVER IT GOES.

This is pissing me off!!
