open Canon RAW Files
You can't use the current version of Bridge or iPhoto 5 to browse your Canon. Thumbnails, but fortunately you can edit in Camera Raw.

RAW GIMP plugin
I have used the UFRaw plug-in for GIMP with my Canon Rebel XTi with success. The XTi uses the Canon CR2 raw format.
