You'd be better off using GEGL Bilateral Blur vs. Selective Gaussian

GEGL has a bilateral blur built-in already, and would probably be a better choice than Selective Gaussian Blurring. The results are a bit different, and the GEGL bilateral blur would stay closest to the original results from the effect, I think. (Though I could see use cases for using selective gaussian if you wanted a different effect).
