What it says in the subjeict.
I want to download all existing plugins and scripts, is there a simple way to do this?
Also, how do I install plugins, I use windows XP.
In Windows XP plug-ins that are Python scripts or exe files, will go in your
C:\documents and settings\YourUserName\gimp 2.6\plug-ins folder. After you place it there you HAVE to restart Gimp to use it.
Likewise your SCM scripts go in your
C:\documents and settings\YourUserName\gimp 2.6\scripts folder.
There is no way that i know of that you can download all the scripts and plug-ins all at once.
You wouldn't want to anyway, as some do not work in the newest version of Gimp-2.6.11.
Just start at the home page of the directory search for whatever your interested in , like say photography.
You can also search by alphabet or by the date the script or plug-in was uploaded or added to the repository.
Try each script or plug-in one at a time and see if it works in your version. This way you do not end up with a bunch of useless scripts or plug-ins you can not use and that slow down Gimp when it loads.
My first recommendations would be Grayc (G'MIC) plug-in. (457 filters to date).
And the plug-in GURM, or Gimps Uniform Resource Manager. This plug-in keeps all your scripts, brushes, gradients, and patterns right at your finger tips whenever you need them, without having to load them each time Gimp starts.
Just search it, dl it and follow the install instructions.
Start with those two and see how you like them.
Peace and best regards,
Also, there are probably some scripts which you will not use. There is not point installing scripts which you will never use. The same go with brushes. Too many slow down the program.
