Need TGA thumbnail viewer

When I try to view TGA files in the File/Open dialogue, the thumbnail image contains a placeholder image. Is there some way to see a TGA thumbnail similar to what appears for files in other formats, such as JPG, BMP, XCF, etc.? Picassa handles TGA previews just fine on my PC.

Thanks for any suggestions.

What happens if you try to refresh the thumbnail images?

I tried the suggestion of refreshing the preview images on the right side in the Open dialog. When I closed and reopened Gimp, the TGA icons were no longer placeholders, but appeared as teeny tiny thumbnails, just like the JPGs, XCFs, BMPs, etc. So the suggestion worked! Thanks!

Possibly related -- This morning, before I tried refreshing the thumbnails, I removed several directories on my hard drive that had been left over from previous Gimp installs [2.4, 2.6.7, 2.6.10, etc.]. The cleaning process is apparently not yet complete, because the file locations that are shown in the Edit/Preferences/Folders... windows still display some of the old, erroneous directory names. I hope that I won't have to edit the Windows Registry to fix these. Ugh.

At any rate, the original problem seems fixed now. Thanks for responding.

Gimp does nothing in the registry only leave a folder in the user directory

If you want remove automatically use Revo Unistaller (free ) to unistall

Several directories have been left over?

This may happen if you chose to customize the installs, but still doesn't explain any different behaviour in regard to thumbnails. Could you outline your previous installation procedures - special actions taken, purpose of the actions, ...?
