Base64 decoder Plugin?

Does Gimp have a base64 decoder plugin? If not, can someone write one?
It would be more convenient for Gimp to have this built in so that when a person is retrieving old emails that were archived in base64 code, then they could simply paste the image code into the decoder plugin and get their image files back.
