Flames

This is a script that is based on the fire tutorial (http://gug.sunsite.dk/tutorials/tomcat13/). It was built and tested on GIMP 2.4 (so, using the new scheme engine).
It comes with two versions; one that creates an image of flames and another that creates an animation (using layers as frames).

may work using Web

may work using Web Arrchives http://web.archive.org/web/20080118233909/http://gug.sunsite.dk/tutorial... but the script will not work (not with 2.6)

non negative integer

How do I overcome the Error: make-vector: argument 1 must be: non-negative integer?

Edit the SCM

the Script-fu-flames has changed parameters and you need to edit the old script.
at line 5, it originally reads:

(define (script-fu-flames width height numFlames gradient)

you will want to change that to

(define (script-fu-flames 1 width height numFlames gradient)

Then it will work fine.

this script is for a older

this script is for a older version of gimp. i'm hosting other 2 fire-animation scripts, both working on gimp 2.6...are included in a "Extra_animation_script" folder included in this pack http://photocomix-resources.deviantart.com/art/GAP-2-6-for-Gimp-2-6-Wind... (or, if you prefer , you may google for individual download of the scripts Keyword should be : Saulgoode , Fencepost script, gimp, fire animation)

I've downloaded the scripts

I've downloaded the scripts from this link and, when I try to run the flame script from Video-Animated FX-Animated Fire, I get the error "Error: quotient: argument 1 must be: integer." What am I doing wrong?

Filters menu

Thanks for that! I had been sticking with the older 'flames' script because animated fire wouldn't show up in my filters menu; but I have tracked it down in Video>AnimatedFX. I also finally tracked down Animation Settings in the video menu (utils). I have three classes of eleven year olds who will be very, very happy! Thank you again.
