Problems installing Separate+ on Ubuntu Linux

Hi,

I am new to this forum, but not to GIMP. I have a question. Does the separate+ plugin (for CYMK) need to be compiled (with GIMP), or is it just a file that is copied over to the plugins directory?

I have been searching for hours to get this thing going, and the only advice I've seen is to copy the 'separate' file into the plugins directory, under gimp. However, it is not showing under the "Image" menu, as it should. The file (separate) has been copied to .gimp-2.4/plug-ins as well as to /usr/share/gimp/2.0/plug-ins. I originally installed GIMP as a single user.

I have downloaded the plugin from www.blackfiveservices.co.uk/separate.shtml

Thanks,

David

Newer version (should work with Gimp 2.4): http://cue.yellowmagic.info/softwares/separate.html I've not tested it w/2.4 though. Chris
