This script generates a poster like the famous Obama "HOPE" one from Shepard Fairey. Copy it into the scripts folder from GIMP, you will find it then under Filters -> Artistic -> Obama Hope.
If you like it, hug someone.
See also the Che Guevara Script.
An example can be found here:
Update 1: Seperated smoothness option to corn and smoothness with better defaults.
Update 2: Typo threshhold -> threshold.

typo + similar webservice
It's great, but it should say "threshold" (typo).
And I like http://obamiconme.pastemagazine.com/ as well.
Nice artwork can be found at http://artculture.com/featured/obama-art-collective
translate en/ita
what "smoothness" in italian please?
And "corn size"?
"frame thickness"??
Thanks
translate en/ita
smoothness= morbidezza...non esattamente sfuocatura
"frame thickness"= spessore cornice
"corn size"...questo è difficile, cioè è facilissimo :
"dimensione granturco" o "dimensione chicco" ,il difficile è capire che vuol dire nel contesto
Why
why doesn't this work on my Gimp for Mac?
how you installed the script
how you installed the script ?

Help with GIMP on Linux.
I got GIMP 2.0 that comes with UBUNTU and I copied that script into /usr/lib64/2.0/plug-ins/. I have a 64 bit version so thats why I decided to put it into lib 64 instead of just lib but I cant find it in artistic menu I refreshed the scripts, so my question is did I copy it into right folder ? Is there some one that can help me with gimp on Linux ?
It goes in the "Scripts" folder
If you have it in the Plugins folder it most likely won't work, move it into the Scripts folder, instead.
*.scm files are scripts not plugins.
cant find script folder
I can only see environ, interpreters, modules, plug-ins and python folders sorry if that sounds noobish but i cant find the scrip folder. Isent python scrip as well ?
script in action
Elsamuko,
I did install the script but I can't it doing the job.
Do you have a hint for me ?
Thanks
how he may help if you do
how he may help if you do not give any details?
what mean "can't it doing the job" ..it does nothing or not what you want, or abort, or..?
to get hints you need to explain with details
Obama "HOPE" Script
I did open a picture and
from there went to the script and apply it to the picture.
The result is that, I get a yellow square color in place of the picture.
I can see that the script is working well, but the result ?
I can't see the image or the picture after only the yellow color.
I think that I'm doing something wrong ,
so if you can help?
thanks there,
Layers
If you open an image with several layers, the script will process only the active one, if this active layer is just empty, the result will be a yellow plate.
Just open the layers dialogue (ctrl-l) and check, if you have chosen the right layer.
If you apply the script on a jpg, it should work. Jpgs have only one layer.
Obama "HOPE" Script
You right photocomix,
actually I wanted to know how to use it to make the photo.
I'm not a designer but just want to use the script to make something for my daughter. If you can explain a bit how to use it on a photo, I will be please.
Thanks.
Obama "HOPE" Script
i didn't use much this script, but i am sure it has not to give just a yellow square as result
About using well i will simply open a photo in gimp, duplicate the layer so the original remain at hand, and run it, playing a bit with the possible setting
but maybe writing here
