GIMP Plugin Registry

I'm looking for a script to batch-resize all images in a given directory to a specific maximum dimension. Wide images would have their width resized to the dimension (with height sized proportionally), and tall images would have their height resized.

If anyone has either a script already or perhaps a fragment that would get me started that would be great.
