GIMP Plugin Registry

Hello... Am looking to write a script that will read information from EXIF, create a border and then write the EXIF information into the border.

Can anyone fill me in if it's possible to read the EXIF information through Script-Fu/Scheme??? Not really been able to find any decent information on this at all so far.
