I dont understand plugins (i'm new)

I'm trying to use ACE plugin. I read a lot of tutorials that said you download it unzip and move it to the plugin folder but once I've done that I cant find it when I open gimp and try to use it on a photo. How do I recognise it?

Hu..You recognize by its name ACE. Actually there are a couple of different Windows builds of that plugin around. Most recent here http://photocomix-resources.deviantart.com/art/Gimp-Adaptive-Equalizatio... will install the plugin in Filter/Enhance, other older versions may install it , for much less clear reasons at bottom of the Layer menu In case of doubts follow "anonymous" advice in the message below
