Oh this is excellent! Couldn't figure out how to center one layer on other layers.
But... and this may be silly... what do I do with a .py file? I stuck it in my plug-ins directory but that's as far as I've gotten. I assume this is a Python file...
Thanks,
Mary P.
After copying the script to your plug-ins dir execute
chmod +x center_layer.py
in a shell and restart GIMP. That's about it. After successful installation you get an extra menu to the main window(Not the toolbox or Layers, etc) with the name Python-Fu and Center Layer as a menu item. Works perfectly on Fedora 10/GIMP 2.6
Thank you for the excellent plug-in :)
is not fully excluded ...zoom out paste the new layer and will be automatically centered
you may use gimp bugzilla for enhancement request.
For some reason often are the most simple options to be more easily overlooked even if are useful
PS For windows a similar script is included in the FX-Foundry pack (" FX-Foundry Sourceforge" ask google for exact link)
Okay, so this plug-in doesn't work for Windows? I was looking for this script so I could center my text layers with out having to + (this will, of course, turn it in to an uneditable layer).

BTW, what's the difference
