Script to Autocrop+Save a scan of several photos?

I have a bunch of images that were created by scanning several photos at once - so the image has rectangular areas (the photoso) surrounded by white (area between the photos.) Is there any way to automate the process of selecting/cropping these rectangular areas and then saving them as separate files (or layers)?

A script at GimpTalk

There is a script I posted at GimpTalk that might do what you want. You will still have to save each of the images individually, but at least you won't have to manually crop/rotate them. I could add an option to save the child images out if desired. -Rob A>
