GIMP Portable 2.6.3 similar look to Photoshop? Must it be portable or can it be installed on computer?

I was on Lifehacker.com when I came across an article about running GIMP from a flash drive. What interests me the most is the possibility of making the GIMP look more like Photoshop on my computer --I don't really care about making it portable. Has anyone tried it? Can it be installed on your computer or does it have to be on a portable USB drive? Or is this program too slow and not even worth it?

You may install the portable version on the main HD, it has no any disadvantage compared with the standard version, has exactly same feautures. More it has some advantages

But the PS like look is created by 2 extra plugin, is not part of Gimpportable as default

 That plugins ,mostly the 1 that fit everything in a single windows, may create bugs

Run away from gimpshop is a poor and very buggy hack based on obsoete version of gimp A possible alternative may be Gimpphoto, but is based on a the previous gimp version
