I've been looking through the plugin registry and I have yet to find a script that allows me to take an image and automatically slice it up into smaller images. It would be nice to have a tool that would allow me to automate the task instead of having to chop up the image manually. Is there such a tool available for the GIMP?
Are there any image splitting plugins available for GIMP?
I've been looking for the same thing fo!r a while, but I haven't found one either

you need to install all this staff in the right order (how to is inside the zip)
http://www.registry.gimp.org/node/3916
then you should unistall gimp and reinstall USING THE CUSTOM option, during CUSTOM install check " python" option
In linux should be ready out of the box, at least if Python support was not disabled for some reason...but in linux you should give to each PY script permission to be executable
No idea for Mac
