GIMP Plugin Registry

Perhaps this is the wrong place to post this. I didn't find any reference to "hiding selections" in the general help files, so I'll ask here. Photoshop allows the user to "hide dancing ants" of any selection with the "Control H" key stroke. Is there a similar function in Gimp?
I'm using Gimp 2.4.5 on a MAC OS-X
