Blue Channel Skin Check Layer (Calvin Hollywood)

So I have known for a while that the Blue channel is not particularly flattering on skin tones, and tends to show a lot of imperfections when retouching.

This can be used to our advantage by using the Blue channel as a 'guide' for seeing easily areas where some retouching/healing might be needed.

concentric-fill-selection

This plug-in fills all the selected parts of an image from the outside in with 2 colours
or 1 colour and a transparent band. The filled selection will be placed on a transparent
layer above the active layer.
The number of bands is user defined in the number of iterations, if however the
selections is totally filled, the process will stop before the number of iterations
being given is reached.
To totally fill a selection, choose a very high number of iterations.
The width of each band can be increased or decreased by a given amount of pixels in

Export Layers Plus

Yes, it's yet another export layers script! This one is mainly targeted for video editing applications. I wrote it because all the other scripts weren't good enough for my purposes. Script is located in File/Export Layers...

Features

  • Can name output files based on frame counter (i.e. "frame_000.png", "frame_001.png" and so on)
  • Can export only visible or only linked layers
  • Correctly exports layers with layer masks
  • Can export top to bottom or bottom to top
  • Can resample to different frame rate (and understands frame delay modifiers i.e. "(NNms)")
  • Can also interpolate frames when resampling

This script was used to produce the award winning short film "Stretch Those Glutes (ANNIVERSARY EDITION!)"

Insane Bump

This is a normal map generator from a single image, originally created by omaremad. Load a single layer picture, then choose filters/map/insanebump..., tweak the details, then hit OK. The normal/height/ambiend/specular maps for the picture will be created within the folder where the original picture resides.

The script produces different files within the original image's directory:
the _n is the normal map,
the _s is the specular,
the _d is the diffusion (just the color)
the _a is the ambiend occlusion
the _h is the displacement (or height map)

Keeping the color tools settings under control

The color tools (Levels, Curves, Threshold...) memorize all settings used. Over time these accumulate, slowing down tool startup, and making it more difficult to reach the explicitly saved settings, which appear at the bottom of the list.

The settings-cleaner script will run automatically at each Gimp startup and do some housekeeping on these files, directed by a short configuration file, keeping at most a specified number of settings not older than a specified number of days. Settings that have been explicitly saved with a name are of course left in.

Update to the Registry

The registry used to be a custom-developed web application but this has proven to be too maintenance intensive and nothing much happened to the site for several years, as many have noted. Therefore, this new version of the Registry has been created based on the Drupal CMS. Drupal allowed us to provide the complete registry with a minimum of coding effort, through its excellent Content Construction Kit and Views modules. My hope is that it will prove much easier to maintain and also allow others to take a more active role, not just me and authors but also artists and other contributors!
