A python conversion of my script-fu Line border script (http://registry.gimp.org/node/118). This version uses python-glade dialogs. It allows to create smaller and much clever input dialog and integrate much more functions. On other side, due to missing support of glade dialogs from Gimp, there is not possble to run this script in batch mode.

Current features:

  • All sizes could be specified in pixels or percents
  • Border corners and lines corners could be rounded
  • Multiple lines of text
  • Different font for eeach text
  • Texts coud be also placed on left, right or upper border
  • A watermark support (text or logo)
  • Translations (cs, nl)

If you found a bug or have a wish, please let me know. Thanks.

TODO:

  • Profiles (create/update/delete/rename)
  • Fill border with pattern
  • Allow to put Exif information inside the border
  • Allow batch mode

  • Allow more text options (each text in different font...)
  • Large border also in % of image Angle with round (if possible) (JacqDjo)
  • Sign (text, and color) in image with choice corner (JacqDjo)

Hi,
glade is not required now and will be not required in future. Glade is only a designer tool and it is needed only if you want to do some change to dialogue. But it is not necessary as the .glade file is in XML format and you can do proper changes in any text editor.

I did some progress this weekend and I hope to release new version in week or two.

Glade is required ?

I realize I can hold ALT and left click drag the menu up, but is there any way you can add a scrollbar to a menu, since this menu exceeds my screen height?

I have the same question. Could you please make a smaller menu or a scrollbar since the menu exceeds the screen height?

Hi,
this is the main reason why I converted the original script-fu script to python. Python allows me to made a custom menu. I would like to split it to more tabs to make it shorter.

This is the script that I am searching for! :-)

I am just wondering how to define different sizes (in pixels) to borders like right, left, top and bottom?

How to assign different blocks of text to different parts of the border like bottom or right?

Is there anyway batch processing of images are possible? Thanks!!!

Hi,

> I am just wondering how to define different sizes (in pixels) to borders like right, left, top and bottom?
You can specify different height and width of border plus extent the border with text. I'm not planning to do a changes there.

> How to assign different blocks of text to different parts of the border like bottom or right?
Sorry, you can choose only one border that will contain the text. It is not possible to have text on e.g. bottom and upper border together. But you can do add text manually or use do it in more steps (use the watermark and zero border size borders in second step). You will need version 2.3 to be able to do this. I hope to release this version soon.

It is a little bit complicated, but it is possible trough python-fu console. The Layerfx plugin solved this, so I think, I can inspire there. Will be in some future release.

Marián
