gmic_gimp plugin crashing

macosx leopard 10.5.8
gimp 2.6.8

Downloaded gmic plugin, placed in /Library/Application Support/Gimp/plug-ins. Was not found during startup. Tried using "Show Package Contents" in Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins. When I do this, the plugin crashes when gimp starts.

Any ideas.

Just extract G'MIC to its own folder, along with its sub folder for curl.exe, and then point GIMP to that folder in Edit -Preferences - Plug-ins. This works best for Windows users, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for a Mac.

I had the same problem. The Gmic plug-in crashes. I wonder what could be done about this.
