plugin to batch process images to a particular file size?

Hi All,

First, thanks to those who work on developing GIMP!

I have a folder containing about 4,000 jpg files that are larger than 250KB. I want to reduce them in size to 250KB. Is there a gimp plugin that can do that?

... reduce the size in pixels of the images or reduce their quality, or a bit of both.

For this kind of work, you should better use Imagemagick: www.imagemagick.org (they have a quite helpful forum)
