I recently tried to install the seperate+ plug-in for gimp 2.8 and I was getting an error message when I try to start up gimp.
The instructions I followed are at this link http://registry.gimp.org/node/17052
After following instructions to install the seperate+ plug-in I get the following error message:
seperate_import.exe Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because libtiff3.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
This error message would pop up twice while gimp was starting up and the Seperate plug-in did not seem to work.
after looking around in the bin folder under programfiles/gimp2.0/bin I came accross the libtiff3.dll so it was never missing.
After digging around in another folder named GIMP2 I came accross a similar file named libtiff-3.dll
I copied this file, and changed it's name to libtiff3.dll
now the plug-in seems to be working.
I quess my question is, Is this the way the plug in is supposed to be installed or have I not properly installed the latest version of gimp? Either way this was an awful lot of guess work to get this plug in working
