Preview?

Does anyone know of a way to have GIMP show a preview of an image in a folder without clicking the "click to generate preview" button. This has been one of my complaints since I started using GIMP many years ago.

Forums:

GIMP creates the thumbnail automatically if the image files do not exceed a certain configurable size (in GIMP's Environment preferences).

Note that if you're on the Windows platform and using GIMP 2.6.12 or 2.8.0, you will most likely be affected by bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=669818 - the workaround is to set the maximum size to e.g. 2 Gigabyte in the preferences.

With previous versions, this should have worked without that change, unless all your image files were bigger than the configured maximum size.

Thanks that worked!
