Can't get rid of thin white border aroung three sides of an image in 2.6.

I'm using Gimp 2.6 because 2.8 does not render fonts correctly on my system.

I've created an image using several layers of images. Once completed I saved the file to a ".JPG" format, but a faint thin white border appears around three sides of the image.

Unfortunately the way the image is used causes this border to appear in the final product, which his unacceptable.

I have tried to trim everything down and did "layer to image size" for those too large. But none of these have helped.

Any help in resolving this would be welcome.

Thanks,

It's likely some part of your background not covered by one of the layers that is converted to default white when you save to JPEG. "Image/Fit canvas to layers" could fix this. It could also be a layer with transparent pixels along the border (use "Layer/Autocrop Layer" before adjusting canvas size.

That got it! After the crop there was a one pixel thin line on the side that remained, but I was able to zoom in and use the dropper and fill to take care of it. All fixed.

Thank you.
