Crashes loading fonts

Everytime i go to load gimp it gets about half way done and then gets to the loading fonts database and quits responding there 100% of he time how would i fix this ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and ive deleted all gimp files from my computer then reinstalled and still nothing

Forums:

How many fonts?

Uninstall/reinstall in Gimp is usually not effective. What is really important is to force Gimp to recreate a new (and hopefully correct) Gimp profile. So rename your profile (C:\Documents and Settings\{yourid}\.gimp-2.8 on XP, C:\USers\{yourid}\.gimp-2.8 on Vista/Seven) and restart Gimp. If it work you can then move back stuff from your previous profile (fonts/brushes/patterns/scripts etc...).

i have tried your solution but it's still not working :'( when i go to the profile, everything is empty anyways, so if i delete it or rename it, gimp makes a new one, i try starting up gimp, nothings changed, it still stops at the same point saying fonts, looking for datafiles, i don't even have a lot of fonts! and there is a lot of space on my computer so it won't be that, and i have windows7 with a new version of gimp, i think it's 2.8

Or the newer 2.7 beta versions?
Perhaps you are talking about RC1?
You haven't really stated which version you are using.
A little more information about your system and version of Gimp would be helpful.

if you have found an effection solution please share it so people who have the same problem may proceed with using gimp
