G'MIC : GREYC's Magic for Image Computing

The G'MIC plug-in for GIMP proposes a set of various filters to apply on your images, including artistic effects, image denoising and enhancement algorithms, 3D renderers, etc.. It is a quite large plug-in, integrating a lot of different effects.

This plug-in is able to :

  • Propose an image preview window for each available filter.
  • Manage multi-layers inputs and outputs. G'MIC defines filters to compose layers or create animations from static images.
  • Update his list of filter definitions from the Internet, so it is able to improve itself over time.
  • Allow any user to add its own custom filters in it, written in the G'MIC language interpreted by the internal image processing engine.

G'MIC has been written by the author of GREYCstoration, a GIMP plug-in dedicated to image denoising and smoothing. All former GREYCstoration algorithms have been improved and integrated into G'MIC.

This version has a slight problem: Do not use the environment variable G'MIC.

Only ever use the GIMP plugin samj and again, it works fine. :)

Gimp plugin uses this environment variable if set.

Update the archive completed.
GMIC environment variable no longer exists.
Gimp plugin uses " GMIC_GIMP_PATH " environment variable if set.
Bug on the version of April 16 : If this environment variable is set, it will prevent the download of the filters of other authors.

EDIT 2012 04 17
Update the archive completed.
Using the variable GMIC_GIMP_PATH with the plugin for Gimp (version 2012 04 17) :
- We must assign a directory to this variable. Example C:\ test
- For all filters other authors could download you must place the file "gmic_sources.cimgz" in that directory.
- File "gmic_sources.cimgz" is placed in the archive.

Thanks for continuing to maintain the current beta samj. Again, I saw (presets that I normally use) any issues, but did install your latest build (4/17/12 one). :)

Hi, I'm happy to announce the final release of G'MIC, version 1.5.1.0.
There have been several improvements, so updating seems to be a nice idea :)
