i AM IN NEED OF HELP PLEASE?
I have windows 7, & installed the Gimp 2.6 and seemingly cannot find a plugin for
the PDS plugin to view .img or .imq imagery.
I have the gimp 2 on my windows xp computer which recently took a dump, & I was able to view the .img imagery on that computer.
I went to thislink:
http://registry.gimp.org/node/1627
for this plugin, & I see no PDS plugin there to download. I downloaded the attatchment & unzipped it & there is NO PDS
PLUGIN THERE FOR ME TO INSTALL?
Please help me with descriptive easy to follow lingo to how to get this to work on my Windows 7 machine?
I not see the problem, the Gimp 2.6 is installed & running/working. So I not know what to do to solve this, so that is why I post here.
PLEASE HELP??!!
Linux version
The version listed there is for Linux and requires that you compile it. You might bring this to SamJ's attention, or possibly wacmaster can create a Windows binary version for you.
There is a windows binary
the link is here
http://areo.info/gimp/gimp-2.6/pds.exe
If that doesn't work let me know ,and i will compile one for you.

Binary for GIMP 2.6 on Windows at http://areo.info/gimp
There is a new binary now on http://areo.info/gimp in folder gimp-2.6 for GIMP on Windows XP / 7 / Vista. It does work on my Windows XP and Windows 7 64bit with GIMP 2.6.12.
Take note, that you need the normal 32bit version of GIMP from http://www.gimp.org/windows/ not the experimental combined 64bit and 32bit version. The 32bit version also runs on Windows 64bit.

So i compiled one myself and i get the same error.

"GEM" is some other plugin
"GEM" is some other plugin which is also registered to the very common file extension ".img". So rename the file from .img to .imq and try again. I don't know if you can say GIMP manually which file extension to open with which plugin.
That worked
Renaming the .img to .imq worked excellent! :)
Thanks!
