Lost completely on how to install new brushes, HELP ME PLEASE!

Hello everyone, I am a Gimp user but when it comes to new things I am lost.
I don't even understand what plugins are, how to download them or even where to find them, I want to get new brushes and learn how to use textures on skin.
I am self taught and its taken me 3 years to learn what I know now.
Can someone plese help me through this.
I have NEVER taken 1 class on digital art or photoshop. A lot of terms used are way over my head.
Again Please help.
