I was wondering if there is any way i can emulate the effects of mister retro machine wash in GIMP, or if i can put distress filters on my graphics to give them a vintage or a washed out look ?
Manually, using various textures, filters, scripts, and plug-ins, yes. I don't have a copy of Mister Retro machine wash, so I can't speculate on what any of those techniques might be.
But if you are asking if there is a specific plug-in or script package that will perform a similar effect exclusively and automatically, the answer is most likely, no.
There are tons of GIMP tutorials that emulate the Grunge wash out look, I could point you in that direction.
Yes and No
