The G'MIC plug-in for GIMP proposes a set of various filters to apply on your images, including artistic effects, image denoising and enhancement algorithms, 3D renderers, etc.. It is a quite large plug-in, integrating a lot of different effects.
This plug-in is able to :

G'MIC has been written by the author of GREYCstoration, a GIMP plug-in dedicated to image denoising and smoothing. All former GREYCstoration algorithms have been improved and integrated into G'MIC.
Latest version of G'MIC is numbered 1.5.5.0 :
A quite complete overview of available image effects can be seen on the official G'MIC plug-in page.

Partha just compiled G'MIC
Partha just compiled G'MIC for 64-bit Windows with the caveate that it will only work with a static compiled GIMP (which his version 2.7.3 64-bit is). The only thing I found is that Internet refresh doesn't work, however, it did find my presets that I had from 32-bit so I bet it found the refresh from that too. Happy I am. Now looking for 64-bit PSPI (I doth ask too much; lol). Can download all these things at Partha's site. :)

I cannot seem to get this to work
I was try to create a cool graphic for my site but it just won't compile. I am also using 64-Bit Windows. I guess I will keep trying.
Hope you don't mind a shameless plug ;)

GMIC not showing up
Downloaded 32 bits linux version, put gmic_gimp into the plugin directory (followed the instructions in the readme) but it seems not to be installed if I looked under the procedure browser so I guess I am doing something wrong.
Trying to instal GMIC in an Ubuntu 11.04 OS failed sofar so what am I doing wrong????
Oh yes I am using Gimp 2.6.11
By the way I have installed GMIC with succes with the XP OS but the readme is wrong (the executable is an installer)!
Use the Debian instead
Save yourself a lot of aggravation and use the debian file for Ubuntu, instead.
I think David should make a separate readme for the installer because it has confused a lot of people.
Try this
Gmic_gimp should be placed in:
$ HOME/.gimp-2.x/plug-ins / '(for local installation) - with direct execution.
It should still download and install the deb package: gmic_1.4.9.2_i386.deb
For me, just so it works in the GIMP 2.7.2 (Ubuntu 11.04)
