problem using plugin .py "measure active path"

Hello forum,

I just installed a plugin called "measure_path_0.py" (link http://registry.gimp.org/node/17235) to measure the 'distance' of a 'active path'. I think the plugin is installed , but i don't get any messages!

So, how can i get the messages or how can i check that the plugin is working properly?

A note with the plugin says: "Returns the length of the active path in pixels via gimp_message. A message will appear in the status bar, unless the Error Console is opne - in that case the message will be directed to the Console."

When I open the error console, I don't get any messages neather...
