Creates an outer border of the image with reduced brightness and 2 inner colours.
Uses one colour for the highlights and another for the shadows.

The wavelet denoise plugin is a tool to selectively reduce noise in individual channels of an image with optional RGB<->YCbCr conversion. It has a user inteface to adjust the amount of denoising applied. The wavelet nature of the algorithm makes the processing quite fast. read more »
This Shadow&Highlight script does a decent job of lightening shadows and/or darken highlights in photographs. The UI gives you five control sliders. Two for control of the Shadow and Highlight amount (opacity), two for the tonal width of each contrast mask layer (using gamma), and one for the blur radius of the masks. To be easier is the install of Python support in Gimp 2.4 in Windows XP or VISTA
Easier because here there is everything needed , (step by step how to included) all in a single pack.
So Install python for Gimp may is simple as double click on a installer.. only that has to be done 5 times, and during the process the computer restated twice...
But again "how to " is included and is step by step

For some reason the freetype plugin, quite useful to edit text and fonts, was removed from gimp-2.4 , and many miss it Work well with Gimp-2.4 (at least on Windows OS)
